It was Christmas Eve, and you were spending the night locked in your bedroom with the lamp on beside you while drawing small sketches in your binder. You ended up doodling snowflakes, each of them having a different design and size. Suddenly, a small knock interrupted your moment, but it wasn't coming from your bedroom door, but your window.
Leaning forward to see, there you saw a young boy with silver hair grinning at you. A grin automatically appeared on your face as you held up one finger, telling him to wait. You quickly placed your pencil and binder on the desk beside your bed then quietly opened the window.
"Hi there, Jack." You said as the cold air from outside came rushing in, making you slightly shiver. Jack Frost greeted back as he flew into your room, and landed on your bed with a soft thud then placed his staff on your bed.
A rush of joy filled your heart as your stomach started to tickle, you weren't expecting your friend, Jack Frost, to make an appearance today. You couldn't help but smile joyfully at him.
"What are you doing here at this time?" You asked raising a brow.
Jack grinned at you, without answering your question, he pulled out a box wrapped in red, green and white paper with mini Christmas trees on it. He then shoved it towards you. With eyes widened, you stared at the gift and then back at him, "W-what's this for?"
"Christmas," he replied with a tone like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "North wanted me to give you it, but really, I gave him the idea of the gift."
Your smile became bigger as you took the gift from him and was about to place it on your desk until Jack stopped you,
"Whoa whoa whoa! Aren't you gonna open it?" He asked.
"But- but it's not Christmas today."
"Bah! Who cares?" Jack waved his hand, "Just open it." However, the reason behind Jack's desperation was to see your reaction. He knew you would be jumpy, and happy- maybe happy enough to give him a peck on the cheek for thankfulness, a hug would be fine too.
You eyed him suspiciously, "You probably gave him the idea of putting a spider in there, hm?"
Jack held up his hands, shaking them frantically, "No! I promise."
Shrugging your shoulders, you quietly ripped the neatly wrapped gift open. There, revealed a white box with a small quote written in the middle of the lid, 'Be Creative'.
A small smile tugged onto your mouth as Jack smiled, while watching you open the present, waiting to see your reaction. You opened the lid, and there you saw a sketch pad, a kit of pencil crayons of the rainbow, art pencils, and a paint set with different sizes of paint brushes. Your eyes lit up, "Oh my gosh!" You covered your mouth to keep quiet, trying to avoid waking anyone up in the house.
Jack laughed; it was exactly how he pictured it. "Hey, remember I gave North the idea." He said, reminding you. He didn't want North to get all the credit.
You held your cheeks as they turned faintly pink from the happiness in you. You grabbed both of Jack's hands and held them. Jack was startled at the action, it was a pleasant feeling he experienced; warmth embracing the cold.
"Thank you so much Jack!" You squealed, giving his hands a quick squeeze. He smiled thoughtfully, and then ruffled your hair after you let his hands go. He was expecting more of a hug at least, but holding hands was good too, he quickly brushed the thought away.
You took the time to gaze at the gifts, and slowly started to love the gift even more as you took out each of the items out to look at carefully. Meanwhile, Jack was watching you with a gentle expression; smiling whenever you said, "Wow- so beautiful!"
Then suddenly you stopped, your face softens as you stare at Jack, whose face became confused one you looked at him.
"…You don't like the gift anymore?" He asked, with a hint of sadness in his voice. Shaking your head lightly, "No, it's not that…"
"What is it then?"
You tried to avoid eye contact with him; so you stared at the box of colored pencils in your hand. "It's just… I don't have a gift for you."
Jack's eyes soften for a moment, but he noticed how upset you were so he quickly tried to lighten up the mood, like how it was before. "No! Don't be upset! Seeing you being happy is actually the best gift for me. Hey, look, I got a present from North too!"
Your eyes trailed onto his gift, it was rather small and was wrapped in blue paper with shiny snowflakes.
"Open it," you smiled.
Jack laughed, happy to see that smile of yours back again. He rapidly tore the paper to bits, revealing a small white box with a small red heart painted in the middle of the lid. Jack furrowed his eyebrows at the heart; what could this mean? You chuckled at his reaction.
After Jack took off the lid, the both of you became stunned as a red ribbon flew up, attached to your ceiling. But what made Jack's jaw open was the mistletoe at the end of the ribbon, hanging above the middle gap between him and you.
You stared at the mistletoe then back at Jack, "Jack-"
"I-I swear, I didn't ask for this on Christmas! North gave it to me!" He said with wide eyes, as he remembered North giving your gift and handing over his, saying something like 'Enjoy your gift Jack' with a wink. 'Dammit, that beefy man planned it all!' thought Jack.
"…Is this what you really wanted, Jack?" you asked, blinking at him.
His cheeks faintly blushed the color red, was it what he really wanted? To be kissed, by you? He really couldn't find an answer to that. Instead, he just started at you making him took pretty dimwitted.
Chuckling at his expression, you gave him a soft smile as you moved closer to him with legs criss-crossed. Jack took in a sharp breath eyeing your movement, it was a sign Jack supposed, a sign allowing and accepting what was going to happen.
He sat on his knees as he gradually leaned forward to you, slowly closing his eyes. The boy could feel his heart beating rapidly, he never felt so delightful before. Maybe this is what he wanted.
"Uh- Jack, what are you doing?" You spoke. He opened his eyes, seeing you leaning back a bit with a bizarre expression. His eyes widened as his features turned red from embarrassment. He sat up straight, scratching his head, "Uh- you know. Smelling you, sorry." Jack avoided eye contact with you as he stood up leaning towards the window, "Um, you smell nice."
I should just hide in a pit forever, he thought; face palming himself in his mind. Jack sat on the window sill, grabbing his staff and then pulled up his hoodie, trying to cover his face. Without looking back, he quickly said, "Merry Christmas (First Name)." And with that, he started to fly off.
You laughed to yourself for a bit, and then shouted, "Hey Jack!"
He stopped then turned around to see you waving his gift around, "You forgot your gift!" With shoulders slumped down, he glumly floated back to you and held his hand out.
But what he wasn't expecting was that, as he was close enough, you swiftly pulled him by his blue sweater and placed your lips on top of his. You held both sides of his face with your warm hands, and there was that pleasant feeling of warmth embracing cold again.
Your warm soft lips on his cool lips gave out a tingly feeling everywhere inside of him.
Once your lips separated from his, your face flushed a bright pink. You blinked at the boy, as his face was in awe with a hint of red on his cheeks.
"Uh… I-I have to go now… you know… sleep," you said throwing the mistletoe at him as he caught it with no sweat.
"Y-yeah. Me too, you know… make more snow," he replied, and then left as you closed your window.
As you were testing out the pencil on your new sketchpad, you were interrupted with a shout of happiness that came from the sky. You went to look out of your window to see a figure flying around the block with a huge grin on his face.
A smile appeared on your face as you watched Jack Frost fly up in twirls, and with a wave of his staff, light snow fell down from the sky making the scenery simply breath-taking.
"Merry Christmas to you too, Jack."
